The best time to visit Puerto Vallarta depends on what you’re looking for, but generally, the months between November and April are ideal. This is the city’s dry season, offering sunny skies, warm temperatures, and little to no rain—perfect for beach days, outdoor adventures, and evening strolls along the Malecón. These months also coincide with whale-watching season, a highlight for nature enthusiasts. If you prefer fewer crowds and great deals, consider visiting in May or October, when the weather is warm but not as humid as the peak summer months. While the rainy season (June to September) brings tropical showers, it’s also when Puerto Vallarta’s lush surroundings are at their greenest, offering a quieter, more tranquil vibe.
